It’s always fascinating how many people will waste hours upon hours arguing for something such as the national healthcare plan without having bothered to spend 5 minutes reading even one page of the actual bill. Of course, when people don’t even care when their own politicians admit that it’s too much trouble to actually take the time to try and understand it, perhaps people deserve what’s coming to them. According to democrat John Conyers of Michigan, “What good is reading the bill if it’s a thousand pages and you don’t have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?” This guy is chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.

And have you ever noticed that those who endorse higher taxes never seem to be the ones who bother to actually pay them? Consider the odd case of democrat Charlie Rangel, chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee. He’s leading the charge for a new 5.4% income tax surcharge and recently called it “the moral thing to do.” Ironically, this comes from a politician who has more blatant outstanding tax evasion issues — 6 investigations so far and counting! — than our Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner himself. From violating rent-control rules to hiding rental income to tax evasion, one wonders how Rangel has any time to do perform his duties of serving the people…  Serving them with more crappy bills and exorbitant taxes that is.

So, for anyone set on the terrific merits of the ObamaCare healthcare bill, let me help you out with some specific points and details directly from the bill, page numbers included. Mind you, these are just a few of my favorite points from the bill (as compiled by Peter Fleckenstein):

• PG 24 Line 116 Government effectively sets prices for ALL private health plans.

• PG 676-686 Government will regulate hospitals in EVERY aspect of residency programs, including teaching hospitals.
• PG 686-700 Increased Funding to Fight Waste, Fraud, and Abuse. LMAO!! You mean the Government with an $18 mil website?

• Pg 838-840 Government will design & implement Home Visitation Program for families with young kids & families expecting kids.

• PG 915 SEC. 2251. Government MANDATES Cultural & linguistic competency training for HealthCare professionals.
• Pg 932 The Government will establish Preventative & Wellness Trust fund – intial cost of $30,800,000,000-Billion.
• PG 935 21-22 Government will identify specific goals & objectives for prevention & wellness activities. Control You!!
• PG 936 Government will develop “Healthy People & National Public Health Performance Standards” Tell me what to eat?
• PG 1001 The Government will establish a National Medical Device Registry. Will you be tracked?

Not surprisingly, the one point that is clearly missing from this bill is the mandate requiring that all politicians give up their dreamy all-encompassing healthcare packages. The politicians say they don’t want to increase spending to pay for the bill, and getting rid of their own premium healthcare program could help at least a little bit toward that goal. Forcing them into the same program could save billions, not to mention force them to deal with the same healthcare rationing and other issues everyone else will face (assuming they don’t pull strings to receive special treatment – yeah right). Regardless, I look forward to all the clever answers ObamaCare supporters will come up with to convince deluded hapless followers into believing they are too old to deserve a new kidney, or that they should be taxed more because their current healthcare package is not acceptable by the government’s standard. At least it seems that unions such as ACORN will likely make out very well with this bill. Any have any idea what that’s all about?! Pass me the pork!

Obama’s Speech (with Sub-Text): “Let me be clear: If you like your current plan, you’ll be able to keep it. (we can’t be sued for price-fixing or being anti-competitive anyway!) We will build on our current system, so we can give you the freedom to choose what works best for you and your family. (worst case, if we don’t like it, we’ll increase your taxes until you join a plan we think is appropriate, which will also force them to change their plan or go bankrupt!) If you like your doctor, keep your doctor. (he’ll be forced to comply and accept all our conditions and prices anyway, regardless of how much money s/he’s spent on training and education!) If you like your current plan, keep your current plan. (as long as our lobbyists find it “acceptable” to their our standards) If you don’t, or if you don’t have one, then get one that works for you. (or else face an even greater tax penalty than the extra taxes you’ll already be paying if you don’t!)“.
